Accept an invitation

Someone challenged you. Here is what happens next — with or without an account.

Someone put a claim up against you. You do not need an account to look at it — and in most cases you do not need one to accept it either.

Open the invitation

Use the link you were sent, exactly as you received it. An invitation that went to a phone number is tied to the link that came with it: without that link the challenge cannot be redeemed, even if you know it exists. Forwarding the message unchanged is the safe way to pass it on.

Accept as a guest

You can accept an invitation as a guest and play the challenge through. If you want a profile, a history and points afterwards, create an account — the challenge you already accepted comes along.

Counter the claim

Accepting is not just a yes. Write down what you say instead. Those two sentences — the claim and your counter-claim — are what proof is measured against later, so make yours as concrete as the other side's.

Check the debt and the deadline

Before you confirm, read what the loser is expected to owe and when it has to be decided. If either does not suit you, say so before accepting rather than after; once both sides are in, the terms are what they are.

Then it runs

From that point both of you can add proof until the deadline. See Submitting proof and How a challenge is decided.
