Submitting proof
What counts as proof, and what makes a weak one.
Proof is what a challenge stands on. Both sides can add it at any time until the deadline, and everything submitted is part of the same case.
What works as proof
- A screenshot with a visible date or timestamp
- A photo of the thing itself
- A link to a source that says it plainly
- A short note explaining what the other items show
What makes proof weak
- A screenshot cropped so tightly that the date, sender or context is gone
- A link to a page that mentions the topic but not the specific claim
- "Everyone knows that" — a claim about the claim is not evidence for it
- Anything added after the deadline: it is not part of the decision
Add it as you go
The strongest cases are built during the challenge, not in the last hour of it. When something relevant crosses your screen, add it then — you will not find it again the evening the deadline lands.
Both sides see everything
There is no hidden evidence. Whatever either side submits is visible to the other and to any referee. That sounds like a disadvantage and is the opposite: it is what makes a decision at step one possible, because the moment someone posts the timestamped screenshot, there is usually nothing left to argue about.
