How a challenge is decided
Three steps: you two, then the AI, then a human — in that order.
A challenge is decided in three steps, and they always run in this order. Most challenges never leave the first one.
1. The two of you
If both sides confirm the same winner, the challenge is settled. That is the normal path, it takes one tap each, and it costs nothing.
2. The AI referee
If you disagree, an AI referee reads both claims and every piece of proof either side submitted, decides, and shows its reasoning — so you can see what it weighed and why. This can happen at most twice per challenge.
3. A human decision
If the AI has not settled it, a human decision can be requested. That one carries a fee, shown in the app before you ask for it, and it is paid by the side that loses.
Why the order matters
Every step up costs more and gives away more of the decision. Two clear claims and a screenshot each will end most challenges at step one — which is why writing a precise claim at the start is the single most useful thing you can do.
What decides it
Only what is in the challenge: the claim, the counter-claim, and the proof both sides submitted before the deadline. Conversations elsewhere, memories of what was said at the table, and anything added after the deadline are not part of the case.
