The three challenge modes
Challenge, Tally and Thesis, and when to pick which.
Not every disagreement has the same shape. INTAYO has three modes, and picking the right one decides how cleanly a challenge ends.
Challenge — claim against counter-claim
You say one thing, the other side says another, and at the deadline proof settles it. Use it when there is a single question with two answers. See Challenge mode.
Tally — counting over a period
Not "will it happen" but "how often". You set what gets counted, how many, and until when; every occurrence is reported and confirmed by the other side. Use it for the arguments that keep coming back — who is late more often, who wins more rounds. See Tally mode.
Thesis — a claim about the future
You call what will happen and set a deadline. Nobody has to do anything for it to be settled: at the end, either it happened or it did not. Use it for predictions. See Thesis mode.
Which one to pick
- "That is wrong." / "No, it is not." — Challenge
- "You are always the one who is late." — Tally
- "That place will not last the summer." — Thesis
The mode is set when the challenge is created and stays for its lifetime, so it is worth a second of thought.
